  1. The alligator is a large REPTILE that belongs
  2. to the same family as the CROCODILE. There 
  3. are two species, one is the american 
  4. alligator of South Eastern USA, the other is
  5. the smaller chinese alligator that lives in
  6. the Yangtze River. Alligators look very much
  7. like the crocodile, but have broader, flatter
  8. heads with rounded snouts. When they close
  9. their mouths, the lower jaw cannot be seen.
  10. Alligators lay their eggs in nests or holes
  11. in the ground.
