The alligator is a large REPTILE that belongs
to the same family as the CROCODILE. There
are two species, one is the american
alligator of South Eastern USA, the other is
the smaller chinese alligator that lives in
the Yangtze River. Alligators look very much
like the crocodile, but have broader, flatter
heads with rounded snouts. When they close
their mouths, the lower jaw cannot be seen.
Alligators lay their eggs in nests or holes
in the ground.
